Depression is not Good

Dr Paul Keedwell, an expert on mood disorders at the Institute of Psychiatry says that mild depression can help us reevaluate our goals, and serves a mental progressive purpose.

I am an empath and say that no, depression is a scourge. If we rely on Newtonian emotional functions we will undoubtedly also suffer gross negative consequences at large in our society. Using this logic, war is a valuable human institution that advances science. We need to eliminate the weak hinge of these reactions and begin to move forward because there is forward to move to, not because we fear moving backwards. The mountaintop is a goal in itself, not just because we don't want to be in the swamp. Fly.
